Classes next term

Hello there everyone, many thanks for your support this year and hope to see you next year!!
Next term begins on the week of January 8 which is a Monday, so all classes are back that week as well as my private class students.  I have been asked by a few students for an extended class on Saturday 13 January which may be a bit soon but who knows, start the year off as you mean to go on!!
I am renaming my pilates class at the Crescent Arts Centre to Contemporary Pilates so that I can put a name to what I am actually doing as I have moved further past an ordinary pilates class.  These classes will have some Somatic exercises in them and some movements that are more functional.
My yoga classes will also have some Somatics in them and the style of yoga I am inspired by is Vanda Scaravelli yoga which is quite slow and a very somatic way of moving.  Anyway I would like to know what you think and what you would like from the classes, or how you are finding them and what you enjoy in the class.
The Tuesday Contemporary class will only have 10 people as the somatics takes a bit of space and you become more spacious within yourself so I do not want to squeeze people in etc.  It would be great if you could let me know if you want a space for next term and if you could bring a blanket as well and any yoga blocks you may have.  It is surprising  how much support for things actually allows the body to release more.

Contemporary Pilates movement classes start January

With my many years as a Pilates Teacher, Scaravelli-inspired yoga teacher, my medical background and Hanna Somatics this class will focus on whole-body movement, helping our bodies become more functional, balanced, flexible and strong.

Improving your breath and awareness of how your breath can impact your mind and improve your balance. Breaking down exercises into smaller motor skills and postural adjustments will improve core strength and body alignment, allowing the body to move with more ease and vitality.

By becoming more aware of how we move and breathe we can help ourselves cope with stress, anxiety and tiredness, bringing the whole body into a state of balance and stillness. Balance in the body brings balance to the Mind.

An Extended Saturday Class on Somatics

Hello there,

I am teaching a 2 hour extended Saturday class on October 14, 2017 at Friends Meeting House, off the Lisburn Road.

This extended Saturday class will be a morning of Somatic movements. Taking time to open and explore tension patterns within your body and learning to become aware of them to release them. I hope to include some Scaravelli-inspired yoga within the class depending on how everyone gets on.

Please let me know as soon as possible if you would like to attend.
